The Fight against the Elders

After 4 days back home, a mystic attendance reaches the heroes.

The most blazing visitor is a mightful Cleric called Pendaria.

He is being attended to by a number of young clerics, a few Paladins, a middle age Female Elf wearing Elven Chain and another older Human Male in a robe. The older man in vestments introduces himself as Randolph Cook cleric of Rao and head of this particular church, the other man is Crispan Langel and the Elven woman is Elessia.

Pendaria is rather a special Cleric because he is one of Prince Thrommel’s personal advisors. He is an older human male in his mid 50’s with white hair and a deeply defined face. Pendaria sporadically goes into uncontrollable fits of clairvoyance, where he describes strange “dreams” that deal with unnatural creatures that follow a lost power and carry an Obsidian triangle or how a great evil is about to be set free from a place so hidden away that it has been forgotten over the millennia.

Crispan tells the heroes, that Pendaria has seen the Elders taking the power of Oerth, he saw parties of young heroes, who were the only ones, who could stop the Evil Gods, and that he is travelling through the country to find the right heroes for saving Oerth.

After locking himself in his chambers to mediate and pray to Rao Pendaria falls into this state.

While the characters are in the room, Pendaria awakes and begins to speak in strange riddles. He talks about a crimson mist that swirls around for eternity. He talks about a creature of great evil that is about to be reborn to Oerth.

At least he yells three of the parties names that have gone on the previous temple adventures.

After he rants and raves for a few minutes, only partially making sense, he yells about crystal statues of underdark creatures surrounding a masked wall of death He makes one last comment about a message hidden within a creature from the infinite Plane of evil, in a Tome, before falling back into a coma.

Crispan and Elessia both explain that Pendaria was able to draw a few pictures and write a few coherent sentences in one of his fits . One of the pictures is a rough drawing of a dark tower made of black bones surrounded by water. The dark tower is topped with a series of tentacles and is surrounded by dead creatures and moving bones. The entrance to the tower is a huge skull with an open mouth. Another picture is of the Elder’s Holy Symbol in the hand of a rotting corpse. And 3 pictures are crude portraits of characters in the room .

Elessia looks at the 3 pictures, which bear an amazing analogy to three of the parties mages and speaks:

“Heroes of the Ralgül Party, you were great and brave fighters, but Pendaria has seen, that it would be too dangerous for you, to face the Evils, to go for the last fight to save Oerth. But you, heroes of the Charith Party, having won so many additional support, you fighters of the Chrisham Team, you gained so many ranks for your heroes and all you bravehearted of the Rainlin Party, with the most points collected, hear the call of Pendaria:

The Evils are near, and it´s in your hand to stop the Elders from take posession of Oerth.” Combine your efforts now and choose the best two heroes from each team and those fighting in the bravest way against the Evil Gods will be honoured.

So the Chrisham Party comes closer due to a good result from Fruit against Fritz. The Rainlin Party already seems chanceless to win.

Using all their magic power, the heroes could save Oerth from the might of the Evil Gods.

Coming back to the capital, a big festival was celebrated, all the country was on the way to see the great fighters.
